I’m a Technology executive with a long international background in deploying the first of its kind technology-led services. During these years leading cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, I found anxiety, stress, and inability to express emotions a major factor in team performance degradation. Often leading to psychological imbalances and team members refusing to return to projects and sometimes resign and disappear. Young engineers were often the victims as they were just starting to navigate the early stages of their career faced with toxic management & new socio-economic environments. Often, I would handle these situations by providing a safe environment for them to speak up and nourish them back with healthy food and conversation.
During the Pandemic I had to witness a few “go-fund-me" rounds for youth funerals. I also heard from the Youth council members how they were struggling to express their emotions while facing fear of being judged by adult-run society. We tried to envision a Technology based solution like a chatbot that would talk to a youth like a youth. We realized that such products didn’t exist as the existing bots were designed by adults without any youth inputs. This motivated me to create a platform for youth where they can safely discuss mental health, create product requirements on how such a Bot can be built ground up & then create algorithms that would make this a reality.

My name is Jeeya Alag, and I am a rising Junior at Eastlake High School. I am exceedingly passionate about helping others achieve a peaceful state of mind and shining the importance of mental health awareness. Through my 16 years of living a lot has undoubtedly changed, however one thing remaining stationary has been my value for confronting mental health topics. I am very excited to be a part of this team of determined youth and to contribute to this project’s future.
From a very young age mental health has been a topic hitting close to home, whether it be within tight nit relationships or friendships. It truly is a prominent topic that has impacted many of my friends and has shown me that sometimes the best of people can be victims of a harsher reality. It was that very realization that pushed me into working on the Healio project and supporting efforts to mental health awareness. Through this team of highly determined youth, I hope to contribute by initiating progress with extreme intent. I believe that every person has a chance to the brighter side of the mountain.

I am a junior at Interlake High School in Bellevue. I am the founder and director of Worth A Shot, a global organization dedicated to bridging healthcare disparities, with a significant focus on mental health. We organize "Teen Cafe" groups in collaboration with Youth Eastside Services and Crisis Connections to provide youth with a safe space to express themselves and talk with mental health professionals about sources of stress.
Mental health is important to me because it is an often-overlooked issue in society. There is an enormous stigma surrounding mental health that in my experience often prevents youth from coming forward and sharing their feelings with others. As part of the Compassion8Innovation team, I hope to use my experience interacting with communities of diverse backgrounds to continue raising awareness about mental health and helping address the great need in the community.

My background is doing Conversational AI and workflow automation consulting. I previously ran my own consulting company where we partnered closely with Microsoft and worked with Fortune 500 clients such as CVS Health, Ulta, and SoftBank.
During the pandemic (2021), Joydeep and I thought it would be conducive to have me mentor the YouthLink mental health board about Conversational AI/chatbots.
From the initial conversations with the YouthLink board, we found that the students were passionate about creating a mental health chatbot that can help provide support to students.
I mentored the students for a year and we co-built (conversation design process to design the bot flow and built demo on Microsoft Power Virtual Agents) the demo of the mental health chatbot.
Since then Sid and the rest of the board of Compassion8Innovation has taken the lead on the continued development of the project.

I am a young entrepreneur and a Computer Science graduate who has been living in the United States for about 10 years. I’m passionate about blending innovation and technology to create meaningful solutions. With a few years of experience in software engineering and a diverse background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), web development, and software development, I am constantly exploring new technologies and concepts. I enjoy learning through hands-on experience, as it allows me to apply theoretical knowledge in practical ways.
In the summer of 2023, I met Joydeep during a summer program at Northeastern University, where I was pursuing my Master’s degree. Together with my team, we embarked on the exciting and challenging task of developing a 5G private network planning plan for a Mars base. Although we had no prior experience with 5G technology or radio networks, we were determined to succeed. Over the course of the 8-week program, we not only learned but also built a fully functioning project, which ultimately earned us awards for the best innovation project and best teamwork.
Since then, I have continued to learn from Joydeep, expanding my knowledge and exploring new areas of interest. I am now in the process of starting my own business, driven by the same curiosity and desire to innovate that guided me through my academic journey. I look forward to providing mentorship and guidance to future innovators and students, sharing my experiences, and helping them navigate their own paths in technology and entrepreneurship.
Hello, I'm Malik, a Northern Arizona University graduate from the class of 2021 with a passion for web development. With expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React Native, and TailwindCSS, I've honed my skills to create engaging and responsive web applications. Beyond coding, I'm an avid outdoor enthusiast. In my free time, you'll often find me snowboarding down mountains, tearing through dirt trails on my dirt bike, or enjoying the serenity of a campfire in the wilderness. My love for adventure and coding combine to make me a versatile and creative developer, always seeking new challenges and experiences.
In today's demanding world, prioritizing mental health is vital, especially in the wake of the pandemic. As a web developer, I've learned that maintaining a healthy work-life balance is key. The pandemic highlighted how many young individuals, including myself, were not fully prepared for the new challenges of the world. My outdoor activities like snowboarding, dirt biking, and camping have become essential for stress relief and mental clarity during these uncertain times. Life is too short to be consumed by stress, and it's crucial to find ways to enjoy it to the fullest. A balanced mind enhances creativity and problem-solving abilities, which are crucial in web development. It's not just about writing code; it's about nurturing a healthy mindset to adapt and excel in a rapidly changing environment.
